AV Information for In-Person Sessions
All meeting rooms at the Omni will be equipped with a microphone and a video projection setup with HDMI hookup. If you need an HDMI adapter to project from your designated computer, please bring one.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT WIFI WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE IN THE CONFERENCE MEETING ROOMS. Free public WiFi will be available in the hotel lobby, and guests of the hotel can access WiFi in certain other spaces of the hotel (not all of them). Adding universal WiFi for the conference meeting rooms would have added $100,000 to the budget—really!—and was therefore not possible.
Among other things, this means that all presentations must be downloaded in advance, and that online-only platforms such as Google Slides will not be available. Please make a note of this!
For this reason and also reasons of continuity, we have written to panel moderators to ask them to coordinate the consolidation of presentations onto single computers. If you or another speaker does not have a laptop for this purpose, laptops may be obtained at the conference from Optimum Audio (located in hallway adjacent to Blue Room).
We recommend sharing presentations in advance via email, or bringing a USB drive and coordinating the direct transfer before the panel begins. If you do this, please plan to arrive early for your session to allow enough time to get your presentation set up. Even if presentations have been shared in advance, we suggest that all speakers using Powerpoints or using a visual projector should plan to meet in the room 15 minutes before the panel begins to ensure AV is set up and all is well.
